The full range of ties, including politics, defense, security, maritime cooperation, trade and investment, will be reviewed during the meeting, which will be led by the foreign ministers of India, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, and the Philippines, Enrique A. Manalo.
Representatives from both countries will also review progress in health, tourism, agriculture and financial technology sectors, and discuss regional and multilateral issues.
Manalo, who is visiting New Delhi at the invitation of his counterpart Jaishankar, confirmed on Wednesday the Philippines’ interest in developing a very strong defense partnership with India and purchasing military equipment, according to the Press Trust of India.
The Philippine Foreign Minister will also meet with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and give a presentation on the joint venture under the MoU signed between the Philippine Foreign Service Institute and the Indian Council on World Affairs in November 2017.
