The meeting addressed issues related to the Plan of the Economy at the end of May 2023 and the execution of the budget in the same period, the status of the Mother and Child Program of the demarcation and the attention given to the proposals of voters, complaints and petitions of the population, the legislative body reported on its website.

During the meeting, the action plan for food sovereignty and the strengthening of food and nutritional security will be presented for its corresponding approval.

In this regard, Lazo urged to maintain systematicity so that the commitment with the producers who will contribute to the plan is fulfilled.

Meanwhile, the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Havana, Antonio Torres Iribar stressed the need to take advantage of the potential of the territory to increase food production.

The plan will be aimed at guaranteeing the organization of local, sovereign, sustainable and safe food systems, which articulate in an inter-sectorial and inter-institutional way, the production, transformation, commercialization and consumption of food.
