Cuba wins by super knockout in San Salvador-2023 baseball

San Salvador, Jun 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Thursday defeated El Salvador by super knockout and evened its balance of wins and losses in the Central Caribbean baseball tournament.

The second victory of the team led by Armando Johnson with the same number of defeats came with a 15-0 points, adding the completed work of pitcher Jonathan Carbo (5.0 IP, 3H, 8K and 1BB).

The offense was led by Yoelkis Guibert (4-3, 2CI), Erisbel Arruebarrena (3-3, 1CI), Yasniel Gonzalez (3-2, 3CI) and Andrys Perez (3-3, 1CI).

On Thursday, the Cuban team will also face the Dominican Republic, one of the four leaders of the championship with a 3-1 record.

The day’s schedule is completed with games between Mexico (3-1) and Puerto Rico (1-3), Curacao (3-1) against Nicaragua (1-3) and El Salvador (0-4) against Venezuela (3-1).

The baseball competition will award quotas for the Pan American Games in Chile at the end of 2023 to the four best teams, which will also compete for the medals of this regional event.
