As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers will meet on Thursday in Libreville, the capital of Gabon, as a prelude to the 23rd Ordinary Session of the CEEAC Conference of Heads of State and Government, scheduled for July 1st.
The forum will examine, among other issues, the functioning of the Community, and will take stock of the political and security situation in Central Africa, the source said.
The platform is currently composed of 11 states: Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Sao Tome and Principe.
The organization held its 22nd Ordinary Session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo in February 2023.
During the Summit, the president of Gabon, Ali Bongo, took over the rotating leadership of CEEAC, replacing his DRC counterpart, Félix Tshisekedi.
The Community was founded in Libreville on December 1981 and became operational in 1985, aimed at promoting cooperation and sustainable development, with particular emphasis on stability and economic integration of member states.
