Seven more magistrates removed from Haiti’s judiciary system

haiti-jueces
Port-au-Prince, Jun 28 (Prensa Latina) The Haitian Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) announced today the expulsion of seven magistrates for fraudulent certifications and lack of moral integrity.

Earlier this year, another 30 suffered the same fate for similar reasons and this is the second mass expulsion of magistrates from the Judiciary in 2023.

Dudier Prophète, of the Quartier-Morin Magistrate’s Court, was among those affected by the Judiciary’s measure, having his certification withdrawn for alleged lack of moral integrity for requesting monetary amounts from litigants.

Judge Luc Kerlin Charles, of the Saut-d’Eau court, is accused of falsifying high school diplomas, while the former dean of the Croix des Bouquets Court of First Instance, Lionel Ralphe Dimanche, is accused of involvement in proven cases of embezzlement, as is his colleague Bruno Leriche.

On January the Judiciary removed 30 judges from the system for lack of moral integrity or academic inadequacy, and a month later banned them from occupying their posts or exercising functions within the judiciary.
