On his Twitter account, Foreign Minister Yván Gil noted that he had had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, to whom he conveyed the message of support from President Nicolás Maduro.

A statement issued by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry last Saturday, in accordance with the principles of International Law, condemned “any change of power or armed uprising by violent and unconstitutional means,” as well as the use of external forces that bet on a civil war.
The communique strongly condemned the threats from the Wagner group and its leader, Yevgueni Prigozhin, to promote an armed insurrection in Russia using terrorist methods.
The press release affirmed that this is an attack on the peoples’ sovereignty and self-determination, in addition to violating the political stability and social peace of the Russian Federation.
The Bolivarian Republic conveyed its absolute support for the constitutional president of Russia and Commander in Chief of its Armed Forces, Vladimir Putin, and expressed its solidarity with the Russian people in light of this attack on peace, stability and solid democracy in Russia.
