Chicho (as Allende was named) is the title of this 220-page book, in which painters nationwide and other regions globally participated.

“When the coup took place on September 11, 1973, I cried and said to myself that one day I would have the opportunity to pay tribute to Allende as he deserved, and that day has come,” the text’s editor, Jorge Soto Veraguas, told Prensa Latina.

The first-generation of graphic designers from the University of Chile recalled that this book is the result of collective works and from the very first moment it was widely attended.

Relatives of the late president, members of the foundation named after him, former authorities of his Government, lawmakers, political and social leaders, painters, and writers attended the launching of the book at the Gabriela Mistral Center in this capital on Monday evening.

The compiler welcomed the massive participation in the activity, which coincided with the former president’s 115th birth anniversary.
