The decision was announced by the spokesman for the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Colonel General To An Xo, who said that the Investigation Agency of the Dak Lak Police will initiate legal proceedings and request prison sentences for the defendants.
In addition to these 75 individuals, the Agency itself prosecuted seven people for failing to report criminals, one for concealing them and another one for organizing and mediating with others to illegally leave, enter or stay in Vietnam.
The Ministry of Public Security assessed the case as terrorism as its purpose was to sabotage the people’s administration, and described the acts of the criminals as cruel and inhumane, as they caused particularly serious consequences.
The Police have documents and evidence confirming the existence of support and instructions from certain foreign organizations and individuals, and even some who were sent from abroad illegally to Vietnam to organize and direct terrorist attacks, VNA reported.
