Representatives of the ministry intervened on Thursday in the forum, which aims to analyze the role of this resource in the change of the energy matrix of the MERCOSUR member countries.
On Thursday, the Vice Minister of Exploration and Exploitation of Energy Resources, Raúl Mayta, and the Director of Exploration and Exploitation of Energy Resources, Regina Salas, participated as speakers on the seminar.
The session included the panels under the name of “Transition and Energy Security in Mercosur and Associated States: the role of natural gas”, as well as “Regional Gas Integration”.
According to the General Secretary of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), Alfonso Blanco, the world and the region are entering a stage of energy transition where natural gas and also Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) are predominant.
Experts point out that the discovery of the Vaca Muerta reservoir, in Argentina, is of crucial importance. This is the reason why Bolivia must seek more efficiency and integration mechanisms through the pipelines that link it with Bolivia and Brazil.
Regarding the Brazilian market and its importance for Bolivian natural gas, experts affirm that now, Bolivia has a new dynamic that requires greater competitiveness since there is the challenge of the unconventional reserves of Vaca Muerta and the LNG.
