In statements to the press the Deputy Minister of Security, Julissa Villanueva, said they will continue the work in the transition of prisons and described them as monsters.
These statements were made after a quarrel in the National Female Penitentiary of Social Adaptation (Pnfas), where on Tuesday around 46 prisoners (all women) lost their lives.
She alluded to the parallel state of corruption and mafias that reigns in the penitentiary system of her country and affirmed that Hondurans suffer this negative effect of crime, which, she said, continues and must be overcome.
In the last few hours, police authorities found an arsenal of weapons inside the prison, including several pistols and an assault rifle.
