The Haitian head of Government tweeted after the meeting, “I met with my counterpart from Barbados, Mrs. Mia Amor Mottley, at the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact. I would like to thank her for defending Haiti from some countries and several international institutions.”
The PM further noted that he held a “fruitful and very promising” meeting with Ruto, at which they discussed the possibilities of supporting the Haitian security forces in various fields.
Henry is in Paris, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, to participate in the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact, which brings together some 50 heads of State and Government, along with development, private sector and civil society stockholders, to debate on particular development finance, climate and global health.
In addition, the meeting aims to carry out a global financial architecture that will be strong enough to provide more resources and protect vulnerable countries from shocks, with a view to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations.
