France Cuba, Cuba Linda, Cuba Si France and Cuba Cooperation France (CubaCoop) wished success to the president and highlighted his participation in the two-day forum at the Palais de la Bourse in Paris as president of the Group of 77 plus China, which brings together 134 of all 193 United Nations member States.
The organizations, all very active in France in support of Cuba, described Diaz-Canel’s presence here as another proof of the failure of the United States in its efforts to isolate Cuba.
Regarding climate change, which attracts the attention of some 100 heads of State and Government invited to the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact, they acknowledged Cuba’s efforts to protect the environment, despite the limitations caused by the US economic, commercial and financial blockade.
France Cuba, Cuba Linda, Cuba Si France and CubaCoop took advantage of the Cuban president’s visit to reiterate their solidarity with Cuba and demand the immediate lifting of the blockade of more than six decades.
They also defended Cuba’s right to choose its economic and social system in a sovereign manner and urged the French Government not to bow to Washington’s hostile measures to suffocate the Caribbean island.
Diaz-Canel arrived on Wednesday night in Paris, where he has participated in several events on Thursday.
The Cuban head of State participated in the opening ceremony of the Summit and met with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay.
