The CSEU called for the protest under the slogan “Let the government render accounts, a budget for the people.”
The teachers’ unions use this mobilization to draw the Executive’s attention to various demands, including wages, student support, and needs for improvements in the educational infrastructure.
The general secretary of the National Federation of Secondary School Teachers, Emiliano Mandacen, also spoke out against the educational reform promoted by the government and regarding “violations” of labor rights.
In his words, the government will send to Parliament the Accountability in just over a week, the last one by which the current administration can increase expenses.
Teachers consider that their sector demands a larger budget, even for the repair of educational centers.
