In statements to Revista en Vivo on local television Channel 4, Ortega referred to his country’s recent participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

He reiterated their solidarity and support to Russia in the struggle for the sovereignty of its people, territorial integrity, the peace of the world and against external threats led by the United States, Europe and NATO,and facing fascism, he stressed.

He also said that Nicaragua is supporting those same battles, and also, as a result of that, we have seen that this has led to the acceleration of a new world order in all fields,”

He reminded that his country has been working together with Russia since the first stage of the Sandinista People’s Revolution and long before, “the historical relationship with our party”.
