To highlight the value of this style within the Cuban musical heritage, the three-day program of activities will include colloquiums, book launching, concerts, and performances with artists of reference within the Cuban romantic song.
Directed by singer and composer Osdalgia Lesmes, the meeting proposes an itinerary in important Havana cultural centers, including Entre Dos Artex, BuleBar 66, Arte Habana, and El Monseñor Bar-Restaurant.
A tribute to artists who have sung this musical genre for more than 30 years and the launch of a book about the life and work of Beatriz Marquez are included.
Under the slogan “El Filin está en ti” (Feeling is in you), this year’s Festival is dedicated to the creators, composers, performers, and instrumentalists who have promoted this artistic expression, among them, José Antonio Méndez, César Portillo de la Luz, Ángel Díaz, Aida Diestro, and Elena Burke.
According to the organizers, the Festival includes singers such as Beatriz Márquez, Waldo Mendoza, Carlos Vargas, Migdalia Hechavarría, Los Zafiros group, Héctor Téllez, Raúl Araújo, Raquel Hernández, Mundito González, and Ivette Cepeda, among others.
