According to Tropical Cyclone Warning number one issued by the Cuban Meteorological Institute (INSMET) at 11:00 hours local time, the central region was located at 11.0 degrees North latitude and 40.3 degrees West longitude, 2,295 kilometers east of the Lesser Antilles. It has a central pressure of 9,009 hectoPascal and is moving westward at a speed of 33 kilometers per hour, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour, with higher gusts.
The tropical depression will continue to gain in organization and intensity over the next 12 to 24 hours as it moves with a similar course and speed over the Atlantic Ocean.
