“Throughout those decades, Prensa Latina has remained a free and loyal voice for all those who fight for freedom and against oppression,” Béjar said after greeting those he called “colleagues of Prensa Latina.”

The academic, writer, journalist, and social fighter recalled the inauguration of Prensa´s Latina office in Lima in 1959, “when it broke the monopoly of news agencies AP and UPI.”
