The 20-year-old athlete enthusiastically expressed, “we can make it and we have proved it, we must not give up till the end.” In May, Escobar classified to participate in the World Gymnastics Championship to be held in Belgium from September 30 to October 8.

Escobar, native of the Sancti Spiritus province, noted the team is currently training so hard and is being focused on a strategy of favoring elegance over difficulty, in order to have cleaner moves.

According to Escobar, he longs for winning on asymmetric bar, an apparatus in which he feels more confident, as well as on parallel bars and free hands, although he also maintains expectations of good results in other exercises.
