The National Association of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC) reported on Twitter that Rodríguez highlighted the joint efforts by both countries so that this musical genre receives that category by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
UNEAC President Luis Morlotte appreciated the gesture of coming to Cuba and sharing with Cuban artists” who participated in the recently concluded Boleros de Oro Festival.
Participants expressed experiences and emotions during the event, according to a tweet.
Orlando Vistel, president of the Association of Musicians at UNEAC, noted that the Festival was a success, “Cuban music summoned us, a genre as Cuban as bolero is.”
This international event, which ended on Sunday, welcomed 19 foreign singers and more than 140 Cuban musicians.
