Russia repels Ukrainian attacks in Vremevka salient

Moscow, Jun 19 (Prensa Latina) Military spokesperson Igor Konashenkov informed on Monday that Russia’s Armed Forces repelled three Ukrainian attacks on the Vremevka salient in the south of the Donetsk People's Republic.

According to the spokesperson, the competent and self-sacrificing actions of the Eastern troops with the support of artillery and aviation destroyed one tank, 12 armored vehicles and demining equipment of foreign manufacture.

Besides, Russia’s Armed Forces fended off two Ukrainian attacks near the locality of Malaya Tokmachka in Zaporozhie region having destroyed there two tanks, 10 infantry fighting vehicles and two armored vehicles.

Konashenkov reported that Ukraine’s Armed Forces have lost over 100 servicemen, three tanks, 10 infantry vehicles, 14 armored vehicles, four vehicles, two Gvozdika self-propelled artillery units, as well as D-20, Msta-B and D-30 howitzers, in the south of Donetsk.

Meanwhile, in the Krasny Liman area, Russian units removed up to 105 Ukrainian servicemen and destroyed two infantry fighting vehicles, two armored fighting vehicles, two pickup trucks, and two Gvozdika howitzers; in addition to having suppressed the activity of three Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

The source detailed that the air defense systems have not only shot down a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter near the town of Orekhov in the Zaporozhie region, but have also intercepted five projectiles fired from HIMARS multiple launch systems, besides having shot down 14 Ukrainian drones.

Russia’s Defense Ministry estimates that since the start of the special military operation the country has been disabling 444 aircraft and 240 helicopters, 426 air defense systems, 4,700 unmanned aerial vehicles, 10,192 tanks and other armored vehicles and 1,125 multiple rocket launchers.

On February 24, 2022, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin announced that his country would carry out a special military operation in Ukraine in response to the request for help from the leaders of the Donbass Republics.
