The statement, signed by the Communist Refoundation Secretary Maurizio Acerbo, reaffirmed “the Cuban Revolution continues to be an example for the solidarity of all peoples”.
In the text, the party members reiterated their “strong condemnation of the criminal blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for over 60 years”, which ” has been condemned many times at the UN General Assembly (UNGA)”.
The Cuban people have been facing up for decades the consequences of this hostile measure, which “also harms Italian and European companies hampering them from investing in Cuba”.
In spite of this unjust blockade, Cuba has been the only nation that managed to produce its three homegrown vaccines to fight off SARS-CoV-2, two others candidates, and also surpasses the United States in life expectancy, thanks to its free health service.
