The National Association of Court Clerks confirmed in a statement that they agreed with the Ministry of Justice to temporarily lift the strike and wait for the fulfillment of commitments.
However, the Association warned that the movement could resume without prior notice, if the promises made to the union are not “respected” and offered a deadline until August for the fulfillment of its demands.
The employees went on strike on March 7, and stated that they had reached a point of no return after several attempts to meet with the current head of Justice, Emmelie Prophet.
The union demands the end of what they call “discrimination in salaries”, since there are different salaries for those who perform the same function, and at the same time they requier increases in the fees and the approval of the notary public statute.
