Arga and Laing, who is also head of the UN Assistance Mission in Mogadishu, discussed peace and security in eastern Africa. The Ethiopian diplomat reaffirmed Addis Ababa’s support for the incoming special representative, according to the local foreign ministry.

Laing, for his part, expressed gratitude for Ethiopia’s continued support and pledged to further strengthen cooperation between the two sides on peace and security.
