During an evening to bid farewell to Ambassador Carlos Miguel Pereira, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong praised having reached a high level of ties through exchanges and close strategic coordination while promoting equity, international justice and common development.
“For Cuba, the political, economic and social evolution of China attaches great importance, not only because of the close economic and political ties that unite us, but (…) also on account that both share the socialist ideal (…) both sister nations focused on the search for a better society and with the greatest possible justice,” Pereira noted.
The diplomat expressed satisfaction for meeting the goals set by making a balance of what has been achieved both politically and economically with China consolidating its position as the Cuba’s second largest trading partner for its active role in terms of trade, finances and cooperation, in general.
Representatives of the Government, the Communist Party and other Chinese institutions, as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited here, entrepreneurs, Cuban officials and Cuban residents in China attended the activity.
