Teams of paramedics and EMS workers from the Red Cross, Comandos de Salvamento and the Salvadoran Green Cross will work together with Civil Protection and the Ministry of Health in the different sports venues located in several areas of San Salvador and Santa Tecla, according to a report.
These forces are working on solid emergency plans to provide peace of mind to athletes, delegates of the National Olympic Committees and spectators who will participate in the sporting event so that the fair will be “safe and successful”.
Roberto Martinez, head of Civil Protection Plans and Operations, emphasized the importance of the coordination of all areas to guarantee an effective response to any eventuality.
We are going to execute and develop different contingency plans and security mechanisms to guarantee the safety and protection of all the people,” Martínez emphasized.
Meanwhile, Luis Laínez, leader of Cruz Verde, assured that the first responders were trained in first aid and will be supported by advanced first aid assistants and emergency technicians.
Quoted by Diario El Salvador, representatives of the different institutions affirmed that they are prepared to attend any emergency that may occur on Friday at the Mágico González stadium, when the authorities will inaugurate the sporting event, which will be attended by more than 25 thousand people.
