If we analyze the 2022 results, when our country faced up an unprecedented external pressure and we were forced to apply an economic model, we concluded that sanctions were ineffective, said Volodin, while adding such measures acted as a boomerang against initiators. Europe is presently facing a recession reaching a 6.1% inflation while the Russian Federation expects its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to grow by about 2%.

To counter these sanctions, the State Duma adopted 186 federal laws, and implemented –alongside the Government – over 300 measures, in which eight trillion rubles were invested including about one trillion rubles for direct payments, he recalled.

The State Duma, on the other hand, will do everything necessary to legally ensure the President’s decisions as soon as possible, Volodin sentenced.
