“Israel’s collective punishment policies are war crimes under international law, for which its authorities should be prosecuted,” Rudeina was quoted as saying by the Wafa news agency.
Among the systematic violations, he cited the demolitions of homes, the murder of people, assaults and sieges on West Bank cities, and Jewish colonization.
“The continuation of these Israeli crimes against our people (…) plunges the region into a spiral of violence and creates a state of chaos,” he stressed, and called on the international community to act immediately to stop these actions and provide protection for the Palestinians.
In particular, he urged the United States to break its silence and stop its ally by applying UN Security Council resolutions on the issue.
The official also held Israel responsible for their attacks, estimating that they have “crossed all the red lines.”
