Sadaise-Arencibia-en-Carmen
Havana, Jun 16 (Prensa Latina) The 30th edition of La Huella de España (Spain's Imprint) Festival concludes in this capital on Friday after four days of performances, keynote speeches, exchanges, and master classes, a proof of the close and historical ties between Spain and Cuba.

The closing ceremony of the Festival will take place at the Havana Amphitheater at 20:00 hours, local time, and feature scenes from the ballet “Carmen,” performed by prima ballerina Sadaise Arencibia and principal dancer Angelo Montero, both of the Cuban National Ballet (BNC), with choreography by Alberto Alonso and music by Rodion Schedrin.

The pas de deux of “Don Quixote” will also be performed by the Fernando Alonso National Ballet School; “Combinatoria en guaguanco” by the Rosario Cárdenas company; and “Arte y Tronío (Caracoles)” by the Spanish Ballet of Cuba.

The Guillermo Tomás Conservatory Choir from Guanabacoa township in eastern Havana will mix traditional songs from the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León, the Spanish region to which the Festival is dedicated.

Museologist Carlos Velázquez, a scholar on the subject, will give a keynote speech entitled “Between Castilla and Havana. Dances Approaches” at the St. Augustine Convent in Old Havana this Friday, dedicated to the care of the elderly.

Directed by prima ballerina and director of the BNC, Viengsay Valdés, the Festival is sponsored by the Cuban Ministry of Culture, the Spanish Embassy in Havana, and the Federation of Spanish Societies.
