Huella-Espanna-2
Havana, Jun 15 (Prensa Latina) Dancing from our common roots is the title of the conference that Pedro Simon, director of the Dance Museum of Cuba will give in the context of the 30th Festival La Huella de España.

The meeting will take place in the audiovisual room of the National Museum of Fine Arts, in the Historic Center of this capital, according to organizers of the event that will conclude tomorrow.

Simón will address the link between both nations based on the piece “Don Quixote”, emblematic work of the repertoire of the National Ballet of Cuba, staged under the artistic and choreographic direction of Alicia Alonso, choreography by Marta García and María Elena Llorente, with libretto and designs by Salvador Fernández.

At the headquarters of the Ballet Español de Cuba, the master and dancer Miguel Ángel Corbacho, a figure of the Spanish National Ballet, will offer a master class in Spanish dance.

This Thursday, the Festival closes with the presentation at the Havana Amphitheater of the gala of the Federation of Spanish Societies “Tierra Castellana en La Habana”, under the artistic direction of Antoinette Torres, Yahima Solis and Laura Hernandez.

Born in 1989 as a cultural project of the then Consul General of Spain in Cuba Juan José Santos Aguado and Alicia Alonso, prima ballerina assoluta and general director of the BNC, the Festival allows to strengthen cultural ties between the two nations for decades.
