In a statement through the DPRK´s state news agency KCNA, the Defense Ministry described the military drills –conducted from May 25 to June 12- as “provocative and hostile”, and also warned they will not go unanswered.

The U.S. troops stationed in South Korea and the South Korean army mobilized a huge amount of armaments to carry out what they called “combined extermination fire drills”, being DPRK their clear target, the statement condemned.

DPRK´s National Defense Ministry strongly condemns provocative and irresponsible conduct by Washington and Seoul, which are heating up the military situation in the Korean peninsula despite our repeated warnings.

Our armed forces will firmly respond to any provocation and hostile actions.

Earlier this month, DPRK´s Vice Foreign Minister Kim Son Gyong noted that despite the deep concern and protests by the international community, the U.S. and South Korea keep an irritating “fire game”.

In their form and content, the military drills in waters close to DPRK, are clearly nuclear war training and reflect the warmongering intentions by Washington and Seoul against DPRK.
