Speakers agreed that the Smart City is that one characterized by the use of Communication and Information Technologies to create and improve those systems that make up urbanization.
Cuban Deputy Communications Minister Ana Julia Marine explained Thursday that it is critical to achieve efficiency in cities, but all actions must be environmentally friendly.
These projects are ambitious because they cover everything from transportation to the security of a city. Intelligent solutions and easy-to-solve management are not exclusive to the capital, but are also valid for cities, municipalities and small rural towns in order to build a more sustainable future for all.
The event -the first of its kind- is being supported by the UN Development Program (UNDP), Union of Cuban Informatics as well as by Cuba´s Communications Ministry (MICOM).
