According to the executive, who spoke Thursday at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (Spief), the three nations want to conclude legally significant agreements with Rosatom this year on the establishment of appropriate nuclear facilities.
Spief is Russia’s most important annual economic conference, often referred to in the press as “Russia’s Davos” (by analogy with the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland).
The major event has been held since 1997, and until 2007, it was called the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. In 2020, it was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. At the forum, state leaders, finance ministers, heads of Russian and foreign companies, financiers and scientists meet to discuss economic problems facing Russia, the markets of developing countries and the world in general. The current edition is the XXVI International Economic Forum is being held in the Russian city of St. Petersburg from June 14-17.
