According to the citation, signed by prosecutor Alberto Zeballos, Áñez must appear at 16:00 local time at the offices of the Specialized Department for the Fight Against Corruption, located in the neighborhood known as “Plan Tres Mil” in the Santa Cruz capital.
Juan Carlos served during the mandate of the former opposition governor of Santa Cruz, Rubén Costas, as director of Protected Areas of Santa Cruz.
The prosecutor specialized in the prosecution of crimes against corruption warned that, in case the investigated person does not appear at the summons of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, an arrest warrant could be issued on the basis of article 224 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
