The Ministry of Culture and Sports, through the General Management for Cultural Heritage and Fine Arts, announced Wednesday that the celebrations would take place from June 16 to 18, to unite all autonomous communities in Spain with different proposals.

The activity “Open by excavation,” starting this year, offers the opportunity to visit and learn first-hand an archaeological intervention, its methods, instruments, tools, curiosities, and results.

The audience could choose from extensive archaeological sites in Andalusia, Catalonia, Castile-La Mancha, Castile and Leon, and Ceuta, where work is underway.

The Spanish Heritage Institute will also participate in this initiative, organizing a guided tour of the archaeological work it has carried out in the Monastery of San Pedro de Arlanza in Burgos province.
