The event highlights on Facebook the visuality of the poster by the graphic artist Nelson Ponce. He establishes visual support between the image and the use of different graphic resources present in previous editions to refer to the achievements of the Festival after 20 years.
Also known as Gibara International Low-Budget Film Festival in 2003, it is a high-aesthetic and high-quality cinematographic event.
It adopted the name “Humberto Solás” International Low-Budget Film Festival in 2009 after the death of its founder. It is currently known as the Gibara International Film Festival.
Solás founded this event to promote low-budget filmmaking, a project he developed in Gibara because he had been fascinated with the village since he shot the third story of the film Lucía (1968).
