In the national main activity, headquartered in Santa Clara central city, the first secretary of the National Committee of the Young Communist League, Aylin Alvarez, expressed to the press the speechless emotion of participating along with the people in the celebration of these unforgettable patriotic birth anniversaries.
The march, with a majority of young workers and students from different schools of this city, started from the Escambray park in front of Maceo Grajales’ bust, this historical figure fell in combat on December 7, 1896 with the rank of Lieutenant General of the Liberation Army.
After a tour through the main places of the city, Minister of Education Naima Ariane Trujillo accompanied by other personalities arrived at Ernesto Che Guevara Square. There, new members of the Communist Party and the Young Communist Union received their membership cards.
Arlin Alvarez, also a member of the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba, presided over the act where primary school students obtain their red neckerchiefs, which is a noteworthy process in the Jose Marti Pioneers Organization.
Meanwhile, another group of pioneers exchanged flowers at the niche of Guerrilla Commander Guevara, born in Rosario, Argentina, and of the 30 guerrillas from Cuba, Bolivia and Peru who were part of Che’s guerrilla movement in Bolivia in 1967.
