The Ministry of Public Health called in the recovery stage to maintain personal and family hygiene, boil drinking water and chlorinate if possible, in addition to throwing away contaminated food or food that changes color, smell or taste. Likewise, wash and disinfect raw foods such as fruits and vegetables in chlorinated solution for three minutes and then rinse them.
It was also advised to maintain hygiene when food is prepared and to consult a doctor in case of any illness, whether fever, diarrhea or skin rash, among others.
It is of utmost importance to clean roofs, yards, and destroy mosquito breeding sites, protect food and cook it at more than 70 degrees Celsius.
