UNCA specialist Yoandry Oduardo told Prensa Latina that as a civil society, they also support the Cuban people’s right to choose its development path without external interference.
It is no secret that Cuba has suffered several terrorist actions for more than six decades that have directly affected the population, Oduardo said.
He recalled that this permanent aggression resulted that more than 3,000 Cubans have died and more than 2,000 other people have been maimed for life, as well as significant psychological, material, and economic damages.
Beyond the intention of slandering the country to undermine the revolutionary process, that hostile action directly affects citizens and civil society organizations in their activities, the development of initiatives, projects, and social programs.
To denounce this policy, the UNCA, alongside the Law School at the University of Havana, and the National Association of Cuban Lawyers, will hold the 2nd edition of the event “For the Sovereignty of Cuba and Against Terrorism” at the Enrique José Varona Conference Center of the higher education center on June 14.
The meeting will be an opportunity to recognize the work done by diplomat Ricardo Alarcón in his fight against terrorism, his role in the international scenario, and his contributions to Cuban foreign policy.
