Narendra-Modi-y-Cyril-Ramaphosa-500x375
New Delhi, Jun 11 (Prensa Latina) The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, spoke by telephone with President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa about the progress in bilateral cooperation, anchored in historical and strong ties between their nations.

The two presidents exchanged on regional and global issues of mutual interest, including cooperation between the BRICS member nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in the context of the presidency of South Africa this year, according to Indian diplomatic sources.

Ramaphosa briefed Modi on the African leaders’ peace initiative, conveyed his full support for India’s initiatives at the G20 and expressed his desire to visit the country.

For his part, Modi reiterated India’s support for dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward for conflict resolution and for all initiatives, in this regard, aimed at guaranteeing lasting peace and stability in Ukraine.

He also thanked Ramaphosa for the relocation to India of 12 cheetahs earlier this year.

The two dignitaries agreed to stay in touch, the Indian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
