Myanmar military killed five civilians

Naipyidó, Jun 10 (Prensa Latina) Myanmar Army soldiers killed five civilians during an assault on the town of Moebye, in the state of Shan, in the south of the country, local media reported.

Neighbors of the area denounced the attack, according to the news portal Irrawaddy, noting that the town is very close to Kayah state, where the rebel militias have an important presence.

Also, 13 other people were arrested by the military for no apparent reason, the media added.

Clashes between military forces and rebel militias took place in Moebye on May 27, and since then 13 civilians have been killed, according to the Moebye People’s Defense Force, quoted by Irrawaddy.

Myanmar has been in a serious crisis since the February 2021 coup and the Government of National Unity, the Burmese democratic authorities in exile, indicated that the Army has committed more than thirty massacres of civilians across the country, since the seizure of power.
