Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin denounced that spreading rumors and defamation have become practices by Washington, as it uses them to meddle in other nations’ affairs, and thus believes it has the right to monitor everything that happens in the world.
Wang criticized the US nation for keeping a prison open on occupied Cuban territory, participating in covert activities, and committing crimes against Cuba for over six decades.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson urged the United States to reflect on its actions and stop interfering under the pretext of defending freedom, democracy, and human rights.
He also urged the United States to listen to international demands, immediately lift the economic, financial, and commercial blockade, and contribute to improving relations with Havana, which would benefit both parties and peace and stability in the region.
Wang made this statement while opposing the publication by The Wall Street Journal about an alleged agreement between Cuba and China on military matters for the construction of a spy center.
On Thursday, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs cataloged that report as “totally mendacious and unfounded information.”
Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernandez de Cossio stressed that these are fallacies promoted with the perfidious intention of justifying the unprecedented tightening of Washington’s economic blockade against the Caribbean nation and the destabilization campaigns.
