Likhachov informed the head of the Kyrgyz Government about the development of the project for the construction of a low-power nuclear power plant on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. It was agreed to continue consultations in this area, reported Sputnik news agency.
The full range of issues for bilateral cooperation was considered during the talks, including uranium decontamination, low-power nuclear power plants and nuclear medicine.
In November 2021, Likhachov claimed that the corporation was participating in bids for the construction of low-power nuclear plants in other countries.
These nuclear power plants, one of RosAtom’s promising areas of work, are expected to become one of the corporation’s export products.
This kind of plants has a number of advantages, including carbon-free energy production, and is designed for remote areas with poor network infrastructure.
