The ceremony to deliver the donation, signed by Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam, Orlando Hernandez Guillen, took place after Tien Dung and Torres Iribar signed a cooperation agreement between the Provincial Committees of the Communist Parties of Vietnam (CPV) and Cuba (PCC).
Torres Iribar arrived in Hanoi on Thursday with a party delegation from Havana and began his official visit this Friday morning with talks with Tien Dung, who is also a member of the CPV Political Bureau.
During the fraternal meeting, the two leaders agreed on expanding and making efficient cooperation to take the bilateral relations to a new level, following the solid ties of brotherhood and solidarity between Cuba and Vietnam; forged by their leaders Fidel Castro and Ho Chi Minh.
They also assessed the potential areas of cooperation, advocated for increasing exchange of experiences, especially in public health and high-tech agriculture, and explained the work, results, and projections of the Party work in each of their territories.
Troung Thi Mai, a member of the Political Bureau and permanent member of the CPV Secretariat, will receive the first secretary of the PCC in Havana and his accompanying delegation this Friday in a courtesy audience.
The visitors will pay tribute to Cuban National Hero José Martí at the monument that perpetuates his memory in Hanoi.
