The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) was in charge of the mission in which experts demonstrated all the targets and validated the accuracy and reliability of the system, the Defense Ministry stated.

Range instruments such as radar, telemetry, and electro-optical tracking systems were also tested at several locations. Two down-range spacecraft were positioned at the terminal point to collect flight data during the missile’s course.

The military source stated this event marked the first night launching following three successful developmental trials of the missile.
