According to Noticentro 1 CM& outlet, Rueda explained that this is the first time the ELN agrees to a really noteworthy ceasefire in all its peace processes, in the midst of a novel initiative in the development of the “Dialogue Table with the ELN.”
On Thursday, in Havana, Cuba, the third cycle of dialogues between the two sides closes, and this announcement will be made in the presence of Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro.
In front of hundreds of thousands of mobilized people supporting his mandate, his Government and the health, pension and labor reforms being processed in Congress, Petro assured that an “important event for the history of Colombia” will take place.
“I am going to sign a paper that may mean the beginning of an era of peace for this country without any setback,” the head of State noted.
These dialogues are framed in the Total Peace policy, the main axis of the changes promoted by the Executive of Petro and Francia Marquez, the first progressive and leftist in the history of Colombia.
