Accompanied by a delegation that includes the Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, A N. Shamseer, and the head of Finance, K N Balagopal, Vijayan is expected to carry out a varied program of activities in Havana on June 15 and 16.
The senior officer will talk with Cuban authorities and tour important historical sites on the island, the source said.
Vijayan will travel to Cuba’s capital from New York, where he will arrive tomorrow, mainly to inaugurate on Saturday the American regional conference of Loka Kerala Sabha.
He will also give the opening speech at a business forum and meet with investors, experts in Information technologies, students and women entrepreneurs from the diaspora in the United States.
He will also meet with Martin Reiser, regional vice president of the World Bank’s South Asia branch, and pay tribute to the victims of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
