“Despite years have passed by, this victim has lived through an ordeal due to the trauma he suffered. Nowadays as an adult, he decided to present his corresponding denunciation,” assured the representative of the Public Prosecutor’s Office to the Bolivia TV state channel.
After 35 years, the victim told the Prosecutor’s Office to having suffered repeated sexual aggressions from the priest being just a 15-year-old teenager.
The victim warned that when he denounced those incidents to some nuns of the parish, he was “accused of being a liar.” Afterwards, he was expelled by the time he wanted to make his first communion.
Ahead of these assertions, Gutierrez ensured that the investigation was opened, and pieces of evidence were collected until the whereabouts of Monsignor Otto were found, who will be subjected to a precautionary hearing in the coming hours because there are elements that point to him as the perpetrator of the crime of sexual assault.
This priest is the second of the Catholic Church involved in sexual abuse against minors; thus, the culprits are investigated and placed at the disposal of a precautionary judge in Tarija.
