The excellent vocalist, who is in India since June 2, will perform songs of her latest album Vida 2023 with her band at the Windmills Whitefield in the capital of Karnataka.
Her music embodies the energy and style that beats at the heart of Cuban music, from guajira, bolero, mambo and son to elements of jazz, the prestigious center noted in a publication about the 92-year-old diva.
Likewise, it described her career as long and illustrious and highlighted her collaborations with eminent Cuban and foreign musicians, as well as her Latin Grammy for Best Contemporary Tropical Album in 2009 and the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.
In an interview to the online publication The Indulged Indian Express, Omara affirmed that being in India is a dream come true and expressed her expectations to learn about its culture.
She also hoped that the public will enjoy her songs and encourage the taste for Cuban music.
During her presentation, Omara said she will also perform songs that she has interpreted in different periods of her life.
About her future projects, the Diva of Cuba mentioned two new albums, continuing with her tour, the completion of a book, the possibility of a movie and to continue singing until her health allows her to do so.
