The funds come from the Ministries of Agriculture and Finance, and will be used to pay for the purchase of machinery and inputs, as well as repairs to infrastructure and facilities destroyed by rainfall in recent weeks.
They will also be used in the drying process of wheat and sorghum, with the aim of recovering as much as possible and minimizing losses of both crops. Henan is one of the provinces in China currently affected by prolonged periods of rainfall, resulting in extensive material damage.
The Government is prepared to proceed in case of contingencies in Henan, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, Anhui and Shaanxi, which are highly prone to floods, landslides and mountain torrents.
It also activated the emergency in Yunnan province after a flash flood devastated a village, resulting in four deaths, multiple houses destroyed and hundreds of evacuees last week.
