The shooting occurred at the Nitzana crossing along the Egyptian border, Walla reported.
The news portal stated that the fire was directed at a military force, and the latter sent more soldiers to the area. Meanwhile, the wounded were evacuated to the Soroka Hospital.
A military spokesperson informed on Twitter that a security incident occurred in the Faran Regional Brigade, affiliated with the Army’s southern region command on the Egyptian border, at dawn, as a result of which two soldiers were wounded.
The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that the event on the Egyptian border was a security incident.
Given this situation, Israeli forces are conducting operations on the site of the shooting, and the circumstances of the incident are still under investigation.
